1️⃣ Supply (S)

2️⃣ Installation (I)

 Chiller Placement & Mounting

  • Installation on RCC plinth / rooftop steel structure

  • Adequate air clearances for condenser airflow

  • Vibration isolation (springs/rubber pads)

  • Proper drainage for condensate and rainwater

 Air recirculation at condenser is a common performance killer—clearances matter.


 Chilled Water Piping

  • Correct pipe sizing as per hydraulic design

  • Qualified welding / grooving practices

  • Hydrostatic pressure testing before insulation

  • Proper insulation with vapor barrier to prevent sweating


 Pumps, Valves & Accessories

  • Pump alignment and rotation checks

  • Installation of:

    • Air vents & drains


 Electrical & Controls

  • Power cabling with proper earthing

  • Control wiring and interlocks

  • Integration with BMS / EMS

3️⃣ Testing (T)

Testing ensures the system is safe and ready to operate:

  • Hydrostatic testing of piping

  • System flushing and cleanliness verification

  • Electrical insulation & continuity tests

  • Pre-start checks for compressors, fans, pumps

  • Safety interlock testing (HP/LP, flow switches)


4️⃣ Commissioning (C)

Commissioning proves the system performs as designed:

  • Initial start-up as per manufacturer SOP

  • Water flow balancing across circuits

  • Verification of ΔT, capacity, and power consumption

  • Part-load and full-load performance checks

  • Noise and vibration measurements

  • BMS point-to-point testing

Joint witnessing with consultant/PMC is recommended.
